Andrew Charles Hill MCSI APFS CFP

In 1988, after 17 years in the Merchant Navy, qualified as a Class 1 Master Mariner (Foreign Going, Unlimited Trading) Andrew started his career in Financial Services in 1988. Andrew established Andrew Hill Financial Services, an Independent Financial Adviser practice, in 1993.In 1996 he introduced a fee-charging structure and began practicing holistic Financial Planning (as defined by the Institute of Financial Planning).

By 2003 Andrew again saw the need for progress and has reshaped AHFS to practice Lifestyle Financial Planning, the philosophy of which is to help clients determine and achieve their lifestyle ambitions using money as a tool. The underlying theme of his approach to financial planning is to help clients decide how they want to spend the rest of their lives, to agree planning assumptions related to the likely cost of that lifestyle, and then to help them prepare a plan which, when implemented, will make the best use of their resources towards the achievement of their objective. Typically, this involves helping them with investment planning, tax minimisation and risk management.

He is happy to work in conjunction with his clients’ other professional advisers. Andrew is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments, a Certified Financial Planner, and an Associate of the Personal Finance Society (all by qualification).

In addition to the core Financial Planning Certificate Andrew holds Advanced Financial Planning Certificates in the following subjects: -

  • Taxation & Trusts
  • Pensions
  • Personal Financial Planning
  • Portfolio Investment Management
  • Long Term Care Planning
  • Lifetime Mortgages
  • Pensions Simplification
